Our Artistic Director is saxophonist/composer Issie Barratt who founded NYJC in 2007 in collaboration with over 40 world class jazz musicians and educators.
Our President is jazz luminary Dave Holland – known for his work with many of the most formative names in jazz. Dave has regularly taken time to visit us from his home in New York, and takes part in our National Youth Jazz Summer School.

We’re thrilled to still be here passionately supporting the creative needs of the nation’s up-and-coming jazz stars: Reaching even more young musicians no matter what their financial background; supporting talented young musicians and early professionals to develop their skills and become the new stars of the future.
It’s been an incredible 15 years of supporting the next generation of creative musicians through our regional workshops, annual Summer School and Short Course and year-long professional development Ambassadors Scheme, and seeing many of NYJC’s alumni going on to be BBC Young Jazz Musician winners, Grammy® winners, recipients of Parliamentary Jazz and Jazz FM Awards, and Paul Hamlyn and Ivor’s Composers Awards.
